Pump fails to shut off when tap is closed
This issue is typically caused by the following:
- Piping that isn't properly sealed at the connections, allowing air to enter and triggering the pump at irregular intervals. Please make sure that all connections are airtight throughout the entire piping system. Also, always make sure to use ½-inch diameter hoses to the pump connections.
IMPORTANT: If possible, limit the total hose length between the water source and the outlet to 25 feet (7.5 meters). Although the pump can push water up to approximately 100 feet (30 meters), its maximum suction capacity is 25 feet horizontally and 6 feet (1.8 meters) vertically. Therefore, it is important to keep the water line as short and level as possible, and to avoid steep inclines.
- The pump may require a slight adjustment to enable it to shut off the motor when the water lines are pressurized. The pressure switch screw located at the pump's head allows for calibrating the pump to tighter restrictions. First, remove the black cap by removing the screw holding it in place. To start calibrating, when the tap or shower head is closed and while the pump is running and in the "cycling" state, use an Allen key to slowly turn the pressure switch screw counter-clockwise until the pump stops cycling. Once the "sweet spot" is found, the motor will stop running and the pump should stop cycling.
