Fueled by propane or natural gas, the Onsen 26L has an electronic ignition powered by a standard 120v outlet and activated by water pressure & flow, and features a direct vent system that pulls air from the outside, preventing loss of warm indoor air and allowing for installation in restricted spaces.
Requiring less than 1 amp, the 26L is ideally suited for remote locations equipped with an off-grid solar system, but also powerful enough to supply a 2-bath family home, townhouse or cottage.

Two residential models are available: the Onsen 14L and the Onsen 26L. When selecting your Onsen water heater, the most important factor to consider is the number of bathrooms or hot water outlets that may be used at the same time. The Onsen 14L (100,000 BTU) is ideal for a home with one bathroom, where one shower is used at a time, such as an apartment, small bungalow, tiny home, or cabin. The Onsen 26L (180,000 BTU) is designed for higher demand and can comfortably supply a home with two bathrooms, allowing the simultaneous use of two showers or a shower and another fixture, without any loss of comfort.
Yes. The Onsen 14L (97,000 BTU) and 26L (180,000 BTU) tankless water heaters are designed to operate efficiently with cold incoming water, such as the temperatures commonly found in Canada during winter. The model selection recommendations take typical winter inlet water temperatures into account. In general, the 14L model is sufficient to supply the fixtures of one bathroom, even when the incoming water is very cold. The 26L model, with its higher heating capacity, is recommended for homes with two bathrooms, as it can maintain a stable hot water temperature at higher flow rates, even in winter conditions.
Yes. A minimum water pressure of 15 PSI and a minimum flow rate of 0.67 GPM (2.5 L/min) are required for the unit to operate. If you are using a water pump system (for example, a well pump or diaphragm pump), make sure it can consistently supply at least 15 PSI at the water heater inlet, not just at the pump or storage tank, to ensure proper operation.
