The gas/water valve assembly component comprises the water inlet/valve, gas inlet/valve, solenoid and microswitch.
Water flowing at the minimum required pressure via the water inlet is detected by the microswitch, which activates the solenoid to allow gas to circulate to the gas burner.

Last winter I didn’t store my unit properly so the valve assembly busted due to water left in it. I bought this part and was a breeze to replace. I now have a working water heater again!
